2025 CMPASS Board of Directors Nominations & Election

CMPASS is led by a fifteen (15) member Board of Directors that oversees all aspects of the organization. Board members are elected for a three (3) year term, with alternating year of election where five (5) members are elected each year. Election ballots are sent to all current CMPASS members two (2) weeks prior to the election closing date. Election results are announced via email to all CMPASS members.  

The Directors oversee all operations, events, administration and conference planning for the organization. Directors attend monthly virtual board meetings lasting 60 to 90 minutes. The Directors serve on teams/committees that oversee specific areas of the organization and these team meetings are normally one hour in length and most teams meet monthly. There is also an annual in-person planning session that typically lasts between 3 to 6 hours. CMPASS's Board is made up of volunteers in the GIS profession from across Michigan. 

Newly elected Directors will be seated at the monthly Board of Directors meeting in January. Once the new CMPASS board members are seated, the Board of Directors elects the Executive Officers of CMPASS.

NOTICE for 2025 Election:

As this is the first Board of Directors election since consolidation, all fifteen (15) director positions are open. Five positions will be one (1) year terms, five (5) positions will be for two (2) year terms, and five (5) positions will be for three (3) year terms. Length of term will be determined amongst the elected Directors or by drawing lots.
